  1. How do I confirm I have made a payment? Will I be given a receipt?

Upon successful transaction, you will receive an acknowledgement page from the Bank, which confirms your payment.

You will also receive an acknowledgement of payment page from NEA.

Please print a copy of the acknowledgement of payment page from NEA and bring it together with the other required documents for verification at the relevant booking office.

  2. What documents are required for verification?

    a) original Death Certificate, which contains the Permit to Bury/Cremate
    b) NRIC or passport of applicant and next-of-kin of the deceased
    c) Letter of authorization, if the applicant is not a next-of-kin of the deceased
    d) Acknowledgement of payment which was generated upon online payment

  3. Can I make any changes to my application once I have submitted and paid?

Any changes to the date/time of burial/cremation, or changes in niche locations will have to be done at the relevant booking office, together with all the documents listed above. A selection fee may be imposed for changes in niche locations. Please refer to the important information for lease of a niche for more details.

Do note, however, that all applications are strictly non-transferable.

  4. What should I do if my computer hangs while I am making payment?

If you have received the acknowledgement page from both the Bank and NEA, your transaction has been successful. You may verify the transaction through Internet Banking at your Bank's website. Please contact the relevant booking office to confirm that your transaction has been successful.

However, if your computer hangs before you reach the acknowledgement pages, your transaction has not been successful. You may verify that no deduction was made from your Bank Account through Internet Banking at your Bank's website. After verification, you may proceed to make online payment via eNETS Debit.

  5. The system does not allow me to make any bookings for deceased foreigners.

Online bookings for cremation, burial, niches, and coffin permit (Import) for deceased foreigners is not allowed. Please contact the relevant booking offices to enquire about making bookings for deceased foreigners.

  6. The NRIC/death certificate of the deceased only shows the year of birth, with no exact dates, but the system does not allow me to key in just the year.

If the exact date and month of birth is not shown in the NRIC or death certificate of the deceased, please use 1 January as the date and month.

  7. Am I allowed to choose the burial plot?

No. Burial plots will be allocated sequentially on the day of the burial upon verification of documents at the Choa Chu Kang Cemetery booking office. The applicant will have to bring the following documents to the Choa Chu Kang Cemetery booking office for verification. The plot number will be issued to the applicant after verification of the documents.

    (i) original Death Certificate, which contains the Permit to Bury/Cremate
(ii) NRIC or passport of applicant and next-of-kin of the deceased
(iii) Letter of authorization, if the applicant is not a next-of-kin of the deceased
(iv) Acknowledgement of payment which was generated upon online payment

  8. What is the difference between a standard niche and a family niche?

A standard niche can usually contain one standard size urn, and a family niche can usually contain two standard size urns. However, there is no limit on the number of urns to be stored in a niche as long as the urns can fit into the niche.

  9. Can I buy a niche online to place exhumed remains, or remains transferred from private columbaria?

No. You may make the bookings in person at the relevant booking office.
